First Comp of the Season in the Bag

Well, it looks like the pandemic is going to have an even bigger impact on our season that anyone could have guessed. We are currently doing online competitions through the CWSA and thank them for coming up with a way to keep the season going for their athletes in spite of COVID-19.

Having said that, we struggle with the online comps. While many athletes will take hours and hours and hours to record their perfect run, neither one of us has the mindset or patience to do that. It’s what we love about live comps. You get in the water, you focus everything you have on that one run - and you do the best you can. There are no second chances. It’s hard to take that mindset and put it totally aside to do these online comps. As a result, neither of us feel we end up with our best result…but we are grateful for the opportunity to still compete even though we have to adjust to this new “style” of competition.
